Fun DIY Christmas Decorations

If you love decorating your home for the festive season, you’ve come to the right place. Simply continue reading to discover a few fun DIY Christmas projects, that are well worth testing out!

Fun DIY Christmas decorations:

1. Styrofoam cone Christmas tree

If someone in your household is allergic to traditional pine trees or you’re not a fan of stock standard plastic Christmas trees, it’s well worth creating a one of a kind styrofoam Christmas tree.

Once you’ve cut out a simple cone shape from your styrofoam, which will act as your base for your Christmas tree, you’ll be able to cover and decorate your homemade Christmas tree with wrapping paper, pom poms or Christmas tinsel. Which you’ll be able to pin-straight on to your styrofoam Christmas tree.

Alternatively to create the illusion of fake branches, cut out strips of green cardboard, which you’ll be able to tape up and loop to stick onto your styrofoam Christmas tree. Or you can simply paint your Christmas tree with green paint if you’re short on time.

Finally, make sure to add a decorative star or angel to the very top of your styrofoam Christmas tree. As no Christmas tree is complete without a star or an angel.

2. Decorate your very own festive gingerbread house

It’s a lovely idea to build and decorate a gingerbread house, which you’ll be able to display on your dining table. Don’t be afraid to express your creativity, when it comes to decorating your gingerbread house. As an example, you may want to create a realistic gingerbread house reproduction of your real home. Or you may want to create your dream house in a gingerbread form.

3. Create adorable DIY snowmen using empty cardboard boxes

To create snowmen that won’t melt, simple wrap three medium or large-sized boxes with white wrapping paper. Or paint each box white. Next stack three boxes on top of each other, to create your snow man’s head and their body.

To finish creating your DIY snowman, add a mouse, nose and eyes and buttons to your DIY snowman and make sure to place a top or a beanie on your snowman. If you’d like your snowman to have arms, use a hot glue gun in order to glue sticks on to each side of your second box. Which will act as your snowman’s body. If you have children who love the Disney movie Frozen, you can even try to create a DIY Olaf figure.

You can also use cardboard boxes to create a DIY Santa Claus, which you’ll be able to display in your home. Just use red paint or red wrapping paper to decorate your Santa Claus’ body and add special details to your Santa Claus such as a traditional Santa hat.

4. Spray paint pine cones gold, to use them as Christmas tree decorations

It’s well worth collecting some loose pine cones from your local park so that you’ll be able to spray paint your pine cones gold, to use them as sparkly Christmas tree decorations. Also make sure to hot glue gun string loops to each pine cone, so that you’ll be able to hang your pinecones on your tree branches.

So if you’re in the mood to start experimenting with DIY Christmas crafts, it’s well worth getting started by creating some of the cute Christmas projects outlined above. Simply print out the instructions above and place them in a handy Christmas binder.
