5 Spooky Halloween Decorations

If you enjoy DIY projects and dressing up your home and front yard for Halloween, simply continue reading to discover a few fun Halloween decorations that you can create at home.

5 Spooky Halloween decorations:

1. Foam board tombstones

If you’d love to decorate your front yard or your home with fun Halloween tombstones, it’s a great idea to use foam boards in order to create your decorative Halloween tombstones.

Making tombstones out of foam is easier than you think. Simply use a vivid marker to draw your tombstones onto your foam boards, before using a craft knife to cut out your tombstones. Alternatively, you can also create a cardboard-based template, which you’ll be able to use to trace and cut out your foam tombstones.

Once you’ve successfully cut out a few foam tombstones, it’s time to use silver or gold vivid to write creepy or humorous gravestone sayings on your tombstones. As examples, you may want to create matching tombstones for a husband and wife, which feature different sayings or jokes.

2. Display a single red balloon from the horror franchise IT on your porch

If you’ve watched the original IT films or the recent reboot of the IT franchise, scare visitors to your home by filling a single balloon with helium. Which you’ll then be able to add a string to, so that you’ll be able to tie your red balloon to your porch.

If you’re able to get your hands on a creepy clown doll, you may even want to tie your red balloon to your creepy clown doll’s hand. To find a creepy crown doll, simply search through a few thrift stores for a suitable clown doll. Alternatively, you can find a second-hand doll, which you’ll be able to dress up and paint so that it resembles Pennywise.

3. Turn your old books into magical spell books

It’s well worth getting decorating cheap old books with homemade covers, to turn your regular old books into spellbooks. That you’ll be able to place around your home, for your guests to find. As an example, you may want to stack a pile of DIY spell books on your dining table or outside your front door.

Alternatively, you can also stack horror-themed books around your homes such as Stephen King books and classic horror stories such as Dracula and Frankenstein. Which will definitely surprise all of your friends.

4. Place fake hands in your garden to make it seem as if zombies are trying to escape their tombs

It’s possible to strategically place face hands in your garden which you can position so it looks as if the undead are trying to escape from the earth. To make your fake hands a little scarier, you may want to decorate them with red paint or fake blood and to place rings or bracelets on your fake hands. So that they look realistic as if a real human being is trying to escape their coffin.

5. Position a lawnmower over some fake legs

To make it seem as if someone has been killed by an out of control lawnmower, simply position a lawnmower over some fake legs. You can even place tape around the scene, to pretend that your local police are investigating the incident.

So if you love getting creative and coming up with spooky Halloween decorations and love DIY projects, it’s well worth crafting a few of the unique Halloween ideas listed above.
