How To Ensure Your Honeymoon Goes Without a Hitch

Although getting married is a day that will never be forgotten, it is also a day that could be quite stressful. Some people say that the two most stressful times in their lives are getting married and moving home. There is some truth to this as for both of these a lot of preparation is needed. Getting something simple wrong could ruin what should be, one of the most important days in someone’s life.

A great celebration of the marriage is the honeymoon and people will usually choose a place where there will be nice memories with international travel usually on the table. To make sure the honeymoon goes nice and smoothly here are some of the tips to consider.

Health and Covid-19

We are spoilt in the UK to have the NHS on our doorstep which is free to use however this is not replicated around the world. Most other countries will not have free medical care and if something goes wrong in terms of health or an accident then you will require to pay for the support.

Travel insurance in this sort of circumstance is essential and you can change the “type” of insurance you receive. Ultimately the more things you want to be covered on this, the more you will pay. Companies like Staysure will offer the basic ranges to the more comprehensive ones. Make sure you keep an eye on the excess rates though so that you are not paying out hundreds of pounds initially for the help.

With Covid-19 also still with us, some policies will cover cancellation or help if you or someone travelling with you is affected. This is not contained within all policies therefore it is crucial that you take note of this and read all the small print. The last thing you would want to affect your honeymoon is that you are infected with Covid-19 and want to move the holiday to another date however your policy doesn’t allow this. This could cost you thousands of pounds in cancellations and other fees.

Loss of Luggage

Can you imagine the scene at the airport where you have had your wedding, you plan the holiday of a lifetime to celebrate and pack all your new outfits, then you get to the destination airport, and you have no luggage? This is something that is realistic and can happen from time to time. Fortunately, the likelihood of this happening is not significant, but it is something that you really don’t want to happen after the stress of a wedding.

It is important to know exactly what to do when this happens. If you have a good travel insurance policy, you might be able to access funds that will allow you to buy new clothes. Check with your airline to see if you can get compensation too.

International Conflict

Unfortunately, we are in a time where there is conflict in the world and although these may seem to be isolated to particular areas and regions, this could change very quickly. If this happens then it may be necessary for you to reschedule or cancel your honeymoon, depending on where this is. It is also important to take note of the government guidelines or rules in terms of visiting any country. If things are particularly difficult in a region, they may also bar travel for UK citizens.

Plan, plan and plan is the main guidance here to make sure your honeymoon goes smoothly. By taking into some of the factors mentioned above, such as the need for a good insurance policy, you should hopefully be able to ensure that your honeymoon goes without a hitch.
