Summer Bucket List

Today is my oldest son's last day of first grade.  Summer vacation officially starts tomorrow.

I'm going to need some strength.

There are 86 days until school starts again... Jon and I came up with 86 activities to fill our summer days!

I got an 11"x14" frame from Jo-Ann's Fabric (with a 40% off coupon) and some fabric.  I fired up the ol' Silhouette and put it all together.  There were some vinyl issues so the placement is wonky on a couple of them... but I had pretty much had my fill of vinyl letters by then, so it will do just fine.  In the future, a piece of paper and a crayon will be my preferred list-making tools.

Eighty-six days.  With both of the kids.  And they'll spend most of their time fighting over some toy that neither of them cared about previously.  I might spend most of my summer blogging my tears.

  1. Love the list there are some great ideas on it. We have about 9/10 weeks before our school summer holidays start and we only have 42 days.

  2. Awesome idea! I need something like this for my two little guys, thanks for the idea!

  3. Only 86 day!! I can't believe Phineas and Ferb lied with their "104 days of summer vacation" song. Haha...just kidding. =)

I love this idea!! My kids are out of school this week and I was thinking today that I needed to sit down and write a list of summer fun. Maybe I'll use your idea!

  4. Thanks so much for the idea!! I just finished typing one up... not nearly as cute as yours! My daughter is excited!!

  5. Maybe that's what I should do - make a summer bucket list. Summer is so short here and usually arrives all in a couple days, then we're crazy busy until fall. It's easy to not get any of the fun things done, so I'll have to make a specific point of making the list. Good idea!

  6. Great idea. I hope it helps make the 86 days of summer a bit more exciting. Any Zombies or Zombie related activities on the bucket list?

  7. Love it. Think I'll just print one off on pretty paper and put it inside a frame. Then use a dry erase marker. Great idea!

  8. What a great idea! I'm sure you'll make it though all 86 days just fine ;-)

I love all the comments I get from you! Because of an insane amount of spam, I had to turn off anonymous commenting but I'd love it if you'd comment anyway!
